Lowell Folk Festival
Late
Night Train Service Provided
In the interest of accommodating people attending the Lowell Folk
Festival this weekend, MBTA Commuter Rail is providing late night train
service from Lowell to North Station on Friday July 25th and Saturday
July 26th.
On Friday night, July 25th, a train will depart Lowell
Station at 11:35 PM and will make all stops between Lowell and North
Station on the Lowell Line.
On Saturday night, July 26th (Sunday morning), a train
will depart Lowell Station at 12:25 AM and will make all stops between
Lowell and North Station on the Lowell Line.
The LRTA will be providing bus service to Lowell Station on both
nights.

Blue line > Jul 7, 2:14 p.m.
Blue Line- Effective with the start of service on Monday July
7, 2008 and continuing until Friday August 1, 2008 Wood
Island Station will be
CLOSED. Trains will
operate through the station in both directions, BUT WILL
NOT MAKE STATION STOPS. During this time period
contractors will perform platform reconstruction work as a part of the
Blue Line Platform Project. This shutdown will allow the
contractor complete access to the station therefore expediting the
completion of the station, and reducing customer inconvenience.
Customers desiring service to Wood Island Station must take a shuttle

Beginning Wednesday, April 30, 2008, Construction
on the Harvard Square Super Crosswalk Project will begin.
The Route 66 will not
be able to access Johnson Gate or Dawes Island throughout the
construction period, which is anticipated to continue for approx. 8
weeks.
Route 66 will serve two stops in the Harvard Square
area:
*The first stop will be on JFK St., at Eliot St./South St.
* The second stop will be on Eliot St., after Mt.Auburn St., opposite
Charlie's Kitchen. This stop will be the ending/beginning of

activities at Maverick Station, the Maverick Square bus way and head
house have been relocated. will
travel via Paris Street; left on Sumner Street; left Orleans Street;
left onto Maverick Street to Regular Route.
The new bus way is located on Sumner Street and the new head house is
located on Lewis Wharf Mall.
All buses on the Routes 114, 116, 117 and 120 Inbound
The Route 120 Outbound when departing from Jefferies
Point will travel via Maverick Street; left New Street; to a left on

Blue line > Jun 23, 6:31 a.m.
Effective Monday, June 23, 2008 at approximately 9:00pm through the
conclusion of service, and on selected weeknights thereafter, a
diversion of service will be required on the Blue Line between
Wonderland Station and Airport Station due to Station
Reconstruction Activities. Wonderland, Revere Beach, Beachmont,
Suffolk Downs, Orient Heights and Wood Island Stations will be closed.
A susbstitute bus shuttle will run in both directions between
Wonderland and Airport Stations. Allow extra time for your commute.

Red line > May 27, 9:21 a.m.
Effective with the start of service on Monday May 12, 2008 the main
entrance at Ashmont Station will be relocated to the south end of the
station on Dorchester Avenue. All Bus and Red Line operations will be
accessible at the south end of the station on Dorchester Avenue. We
apologize for any inconvenience.

Ashmont Station Busway Closure
The temporary busway at Ashmont Station is closed until further
notice, due to ongoing construction. All bus routes that service
Ashmont Station will now board and disembark passengers at the new
stops located on Dorchester Avenue in front of the station.

Beginning Wednesday, July 18, 2007, the Route 4 will be rerouted due
to construction along Canal Street. The detour will be in place until
construction is completed in approximately two years. The North
Station bus stop was moved from Canal Street to Causeway Street, an
additional stop will be made at N. Washington St. after Medford St.
